With the Gladiator, Jeep met the demands of Wrangler owners who wanted the fun and freedom of owning an off-road SUV with a pickup bed attached to the back. The Gladiator, like the Wrangler on which it is based, has a removable top and doors but has 1,000 pounds of additional maximum cargo capacity. Like its Wrangler sibling, its handling and ride behavior make it more roadworthy than conventional midsize pickups like the Honda Ridgeline and Chevrolet Colorado. Each Gladiator features a four-door cab, a 5.0-foot bed, and a powerful all-wheel drive system. Gladiators have a six-speed manual transmission and an optional turbo diesel transmission that significantly lowers fuel economy. All come standard with the ability to overcome tracks.
According to Cars.com, the 2023 Jeep Gladiator has one significant change for the new model year. It gets the Freedom Edition model, paying homage to the US military. It adds a special Oscar Mike badge on the tailgate and an American flag sticker on the side. In addition, standard LED headlights and fog lights. The special edition model also has steel front and rear bumpers that can be winched to enhance the Gladiator’s capabilities. Finally, the Freedom Edition features steel rock rails to help protect it from rocks and other hazards while riding on the trail.
Next, there’s an all-new capability package for the High Altitude trim level. From the name, it enhances the 2023 Jeep Gladiator in several ways. For example, the steel front bumper and stone rails on the Freedom Edition. Finally, the Willys trim comes standard with keyless entry, remote start, and a new color option. Snazzleberry is a new color that has replaced High-Velocity Yellow in this model’s color scheme.

Front-seat passengers will have access to multiple power points, which include two USBs and a USB-C port; it also has a 115-volt outlet.
The 2023 Jeep Gladiator has a 3.6-liter V6 engine that produces 260 lb-ft of torque and 285 hp. With 442 lb-ft of torque and 260 hp, the 3.0-liter turbodiesel V6 is a viable option. The standard equipment includes an automated eight-speed gearbox. While we like the diesel’s low-end power, its cargo and towing capacity are also down to 1,325 and 6,500 pounds, respectively. The diesel engine seems more energetic when hauling, even if it doesn’t have the same power as the regular V6 engine.
